I tried this a second time by baking in a 9 x 13 inch pan instead of two round ones. MISTAKE! I didn't have a platter big enough to invert it, so the sauce didn't permeate the cake, making it a sloppy mess on the bottom. So, if you make this, be sure to use the 2 round pans and invert the cake after baking. It's so good after the sauce permeates the cake itself!
I want to try this and try to stack the two layers, by putting the 2nd layer upside down onto the first layer, so the banana side will be on top, then top with whipped topping...*just an idea* and an attractive one* I wish you had posted a picture!
