Silver Post Medal for All Time! 293 Posts If Barbie looks happy, that's because she's enjoying the warmth and style of her new cloak. With easy double crochet stitches, Barbie can be ready to enjoy the snow in no time!
Total Time: Under an hour
Yield: As many as you like!
Source: Self
Supplies:
- "I" crochet hook
- small amounts of #5 bulky weight, lion brand yarn in color "windsor"
- scissors
- embroidery needle for weaving in ends
- 2 buttons, 1 about 3/4" diameter, 1 about 1" diameter.
Steps:
- Ch 8.
- 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook and last 5.
- Ch 2, turn. 2 dc in same space as ch, 3 dc in each of the remaining stitches. Please note that you do not have to use the top of the ch 2 as your last stitch. You may simply use the "space" in between your last dc and the ch. It is much easier and quicker.
- See? That row done.
- Ch 2, turn, 1 dc in same space as ch, 1 dc in next 3 stitches, *2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in each of next 3,* repeat between * * until you have 4 stitches left. 1 dc in each of those.
- Ch 2, turn, 1 dc in each stitch till end.
- Ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 3, ch 2, skip 2, dc in next 14, ch 2, skip 2, dc in last 4 stitches. You have officially made Barbie's arm openings.
- Ch 2, 1 dc in each stitch across, working 2 dc in each arm opening.
- Work the next 5 rows, ch 2, 1 dc in each till end. Fasten off!
- Using your yarn end, sew a 3/4" button on the top left side of the collar area. You will now be able to wrap the other side of the collar around and push the button through any convenient space.
- Now sew your 1" button about halfway down the cloak. She must be modest and stay warm!
- Enjoy!!
