In my basement, I have a bar with brown cabinets and a black countertop. I also have chocolate brown sofas, tan walls and carpet. Can you suggest a color of curtain that I should add to my window in this area?

I would go with a light tan color to brighten up the room. You have many dark colors in the room and need a light color on the windows to tie it all together.
I would use a pale version of mint green, yellow or orange. It will give the room some color.
