I need some suggestions for organizing my (slightly large) bathroom. I need to organize shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and my makeup. I want to keep the mirrors sparkling and tub, tiles, and toilets clean. Thank you for all or any advice. It is greatly appreciated.

I have one of those shoe organizers that hang on the door on the inside of my linen closet. It works very well to organize almost all my bathroom stuff. The pockets make keeping like things together easy. I have everything from lotion to Q-tips to fingernail clippers in it. Just put the things you use less often on the top or bottom rows and the things you use frequently in the middle rows. You could also hang on the back of the bathroom door. Hope this is useful. I know I have used mine for several years and don't plan on giving it up anytime soon! (12/03/2009)

For starters, I make sure I don't buy an over abundance of these types of products and then end up with several bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc. I use up what I have first before purchasing another. Hanging inside my shower/bathtub is a 3 tier basket, the kind you'd buy for fruits and veggies. That's where I keep my shampoo and conditioner, my razor and lotion/conditioner that I use for shaving my legs.
For my makeup, I'm fortunate enough to have a sit down vanity with drawers. That's where I keep a basket with my make-up in it. Then I just pull out the whole basket and when I'm done, put the basket back in the drawer. The same for my curling iron, hair brushes and blow dryer. My blow dryer is quite large and does not fit in the drawer, so I use a very pretty tote bag that I have hanging on an etegere to keep it handy.
My towels and wash clothes are folded neatly and also placed on the shelves of the etergere along with a few decorative items. On top of my vanity I have a pretty oval platter that I no longer use in the kitchen and that's where I keep my perfume, vitamins (so I don't forget to take them) and I placed some decorative stones all around it. I have a small very pretty crystal clock setting on the vanity and also an old antique crystal jelly jar that I purchased years ago at a garage sale and I keep my q-tips in it.
Everything is very handy and neatly in it's place. I keep extra rolls of toilet paper in another drawer that I can reach right from the toilet. You can also keep towels rolled up and placed in a pretty basket. One splurge I allow myself is Oil of Olay or some other brand of make-up remover clothes. I love the containers they come in and I recycle them in my bathroom cupboard as dividers and also my desk drawer and underwear drawer where I roll my socks and keep them in the empty containers. My best tip for keeping the bathroom clean is to keep the cleaners you need for the bathroom IN the bathroom. I keep a bottle of Mr. Clean, a jug of spray Windex, and the toilet bowl cleaner in the bathroom, as well as a brush and dust pan. Then whenever there is a spill or splash, or I notice that things are getting spotty or dusty, I clean it when I notice it. The bathroom is a tiny room, and only takes a minute or two to clean the tap and mirrors or to brush the dust out of the corners.
