It all depends what color you want to feature in your bathroom to coordinate. I love gold and turquoise. Gold accessories with teal/turquoise accents (bath mats/towels)
What colour are your walls and floor? I love my bathroom to reflect the colours of the sea. I use blues, teals, and greens at eye level with accents of taupe and gold (like sand) :)
White goes with everything. You didn't specify the colors.
All depends on what color the walls are. If they are cream or beige then I would go with a yellow or green. If white then pink or lavender. Actually if white, you can go with a darker color, brown grey or even black.
I would go with light brown and a multi pattern since those shouldn't show dirt as easy as some other colors.
It is always best to follow a color scheme that will coordinate with the main permanent colors (walls, floor and cabinets) but you can always fill in with the colors that are attractive to you as basic colors like beige, creme, white will let you add any number of vibrant colors with your personal selection of accessories.
