This is an easy, hearty and tasty recipe that I take to the Moose Lodge frequently for potlucks.
Put it all ingredients in the crockpot for about 2 hours +/- to warm and mix flavors. Serve with chips. How easy is that?

It is an easy recipe and everyone loves it, even the kids. Brown ground meat and drain grease (do not rinse). Add salt, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning to taste.
I came up with this the other night when I suddenly had extra heads at the table last minute, and not enough meat to go around. I just used what I had left in my veggie drawer. I didn't even have an onion!
In large black skillet, cut up the hog jowl or bacon into tiny pieces, no longer than a quarter. Cook until almost crisp, then add the onion also cut into small pieces.
This is a hearty from-scratch stew. The perfect way to warm up on a cold fall or winter day. Many stores carry a 14 bean blend in their bulk foods section but you can also create your own using whatever dry beans you have on hand.
Add water to just cover everything. Cook on low for 8-9 hours. Serve over cooked pasta or rice.
Cook onion, pepper and garlic in the hot oil until onion is tender. Add ground beef and crumble with fork until it loses its red color. Stir in remaining ingredients.
I start a crock pot of the Sante Fe stew in the morning and just take the crock pot over to our friends' house and keep it on warm. Everyone serves themselves.
Brown beef, drain and rinse with warm water to remove excess fat. Combine beef and rest of ingredients (except cheese and chips) in a Dutch oven. Simmer on low heat till heated thoroughly.
Brown meat and onion in large 10 inch skillet. Add remaining ingredients. Stir and mix well. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
