Photo Description The little hummingbird was caught inside my garage and dropped from exhaustion and just let me scoop it up. I was thrilled to hold that tiny bird...not too thrilled with my husband that took 10 pictures of my thumb and only one of the little hummingbird's face!
One of my favorite hobbies is to feed birds. I love seeing ANY bird, but to actually get to hold a wild bird is amazing to me. Unfortunately, the Indigo Bunting and the Cardinal flew into my glass patio door. I gently held them and petted them until they flew away.

oh Wow what beautiful birds! thanks for sharing!xxx
As I was reading your post, I was wondering how you were able to hold the birds. That's sweet.
I helped your picture along a bit because I really wanted to see the hummingbird in your hand. I know exactly what you are experiencing. I get a strange and wonderful feeling when I'm holding a wild creature and they seem quite content, somehow sensing that I mean them no harm.
And I'm keeping a copy of the Indigo Bunting. Beautiful picture.
Thanks
That's awesome, thank you!!
Beautiful birds, glad it ended well. I have suncatchers on my windows and I think that really helps the perception that is is open space outside, so they do not try to fly through. I love birds, I am an avid feeder going broke over it almost, and years ago I use to bid on various sun catchers on eBay, it was such fun collecting.
I love your idea of using suncatchers! I tried a cut out of an owl, I received a free gift of a reflective window cling, I hung up plastic netting and had to rescue birds caught IN it, all fails!
