So I just wanted to say first, thanks for all your advice on birthday party ideas, and I kind of need your help again. My best friend of all time lives 2 hours away from me. Her birthday is coming soon and I don't know what to get her. She's turning 15 and loves things that have a use or value, or are sentimental (are you picking up what I'm putting down?). Of course, I have some ideas, but they don't seem to be good enough or best friend worthy.

To make some thing personal I would go to a local craft store and buy beads in her favorite color and string them on thread elastic, you can also get that in a craft shop, it is very easy as the elastic allows her to just push it up on her wrist, therefore do not worry about size.
Check on the internet or in the Sunday newspaper for "cents off" coupons, most have a 50 % off coupon, either print out or cut out and this will save you money. Also use the internet or even phone book to find the name of a local craft shop.
A personal hand made item is perfect for a "best friend".
If you don't have money, there are still lots of treasured gifts.
Step 1
You can make her a coupon book. Included could be a coupon for cookies (baked and mailed by you), or anything else you think she'd like.
Step 2
A picture frame with a photo of you two.
Step 3
Homemade soap or lotion (look on the internet for instructions.
Since you have been best friends for so long I'm sure you have a lot of photos of the two of you. Why not make her a scrapbook for her birthday or Christmas. You can buy a really cute scrapbook and use the photos of the two of you. Decorate the pages and make it unique. Highlight the special events and days you shared together. In the scrapbook dedicate one page to telling her why she is your best friend.
Many malls now have a Build a Bear shop in the mall. You could go there and Build her a Bear or other stuffed animal. Dress it up and add a pair of earrings for her to wear on the bear or other animal.
For a special friend like this invite her over for the weekend. Have your mom help you cook a really nice dinner. Then make a special table for two and maybe your mom could serve you the dinner you cooked. Give her a really nice necklace or a pair of earrings for her gift.
Step 1
You could make her a book about how you met or the things you like about her. Or make a personalized necklace or charm bracelet.

You could make her a personalized frame of you two! Then you can give her a personalized box (glue around inspirational photos or words) and put small thoughtful gifts like her favorite candy, snack, and maybe something sentimental to you both that you both like to do maybe tickets to a movie so you both can go!
