Remove the dirty water tank and put it back while the unit is still on.
Hi,
Before you try anything at all, call the support number:
Bissell Support: 1-800-237-7691
The times to call are:
Monday through Friday from 8 am to 10 pm
Saturday 9 am to 8 pm
Sunday 10 am to 7 pm
The times are Eastern Standard Time.
Also, please don't try to work on your machine while it is still plugged in as this is a safety issue.
Blessings,
Robyn
some aspect of the hose mechanism is not sucking up fluids properly, possibly due to some leak or the vacuum mechanism not working, or else the tank is oversaturated, sort of like when a vacuum bag is too full
Did you get a resolve for your issue?
You don't say how old the machine is, but if it is newer, BEFORE you do it yourself, check to see if it is under warranty OR if there was a recall. If it is old and no recalls, you can look for video to repair it.
There are a number of Bissell videos on YouTube. The Bissell site has videos also for fixing things also like this one:

This one is not an exact match, but it may point you in the right direction. You may need to type in the model number in the search to find a video of the exact device!
