Black Clothing Dulled my Pinks?

Basically, an unsuspected piece of black clothing got into my pinks. After washing (me still being unaware considering it was nighttime so it was dark and I couldn't turn on the lights for reasons), I put them into the dryer overnight.

Waking up the next day, I take them out and as I'm putting them away, two clothes stand out to me - my brand new pink gym top that I'd bought just the day before, and my pink gym bra that matched a pair of pink shorts and leggings that I own. I immediately compare them to said matching pairs and then I nearly start crying - the colour has been dulled!

It's not awful, but it's still bothering me, that top was brand new, and that bra wasn't cheap ($60 - thanks, brand names). The pink was so nice and bright before, now you could argue that it's barley pink, especially next to the matching sets I own.

I'm so distraught, my mum is convinced that after a few washes, the black that dulled it should bleed out. I'm just wondering if that's truly possible or if there is another way to fix it - or - if it's a worse-case scenario and the clothes are now dulled forever.

Thank you in advance!

You could try a wash with home made oxi clean, but depending on the materials of the items (bras are hard to get bleed out of).

1/2 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, and 1 cup hot water, shake or stir it all together until the soda is dissolved.

Put the mix in a bucket with cool water (just enough to cover the item) and let the item soak in the bucket (one at a time) for 1-3 hours.

Rinse and repeat until the bleed fades.

Hope it helps.

There is an oxygen bleach that you can buy in stores that would do the trick. You will need to dissolve the oxygen bleach in hot water and then add cold water to cool it down. You will need to soak each garment in the water solution for 15-20 minutes. If you are still seeing some of the stains on the garment you can try adding some hydrogen peroxide to the garment for a few minutes and then rinse this with cold water.

There are few things you can try, at this point you are not happy with what you have . These ideas may sound a little off, but worth a shot! They say washing your clothes with salt or vinegar may help clothing look like new again.
