I had a dental implant a few years back. It was all fine until last month when I had severe pain around the implant. At first, I thought the pain was from the wisdom tooth extraction I had from Brampton a few weeks before the pain started. I called up the doctor and he was so affirmative that it was not the wisdom tooth.
After some time the pain became isolated around the implant area gums. The next morning, while brushing my teeth there was a bloodbath. Blood was leaking out from the gums with each brush stroke, that was dark red-brown blood. I went to the dentist and he blamed me for my oral hygiene which I couldn't believe because I used to brush twice daily and used mouthwash often. The gum around the implant was weak and the implant had a big crack. Now I have to treat the gum then replace the implant. I read an article on the implant alternatives on the Lake Ridge Dental site -www.lakeridgedental.ca/blog/dental-implants/long-dental-implants-last/.
Could anyone tell me which one is best, keeping in mind about the weak gums?

I dont think any of us has the expertise to answer this question. If you have doubts about the competence of the dentist, please go for a second opinion.
I strongly suggest you talk to an oral surgeon and get a second opinion.
Crowd sourcing health information can be dangerous as everyone is different and one person's experience and situation may be totally different than yours.
If you have dental/medical insurance call the insurance company and get a list of oral surgeons who are in network AND verify that the visit will be covered (I know from experience the implants themselves are rarely covered but most providers will work with you on either a sliding scale payment or payment plan
Even if the appointment is covered, getting a second option is your best bet.

Agreed. You have an isolated case and we can't tell you what's best for you. Even if we had X-rays, we are not qualified.
You need a second and maybe even a third opinion and then make your decision based on what these physicians tell you as no one on this site is qualified to offer an opinion on something this serious and especially not on something that is a medical problem.
You should not wait but take care of this problem soon.
