I bought a 2nd hand Sewland kids sewing machine at the op shop. It didn't come with a bobbin case. Should it have one? I can't seem to pick up the bobbin thread without one.

I never had a child's sewing machine, but I have seen many sewing machines and they all had bobbin cases. Here is the website for Sewland: www.sewland-usa.com/
In the future, never buy anything without making sure it works!

From the manual (good images) it certainly appears a bobbin case is necessary. Perhaps contact the company to purchase one?
I would definitely say it comes with one, especially as it seems to not function well without it.
This link here shows what it's supposed to come with
You can always contact the manufacturer or look on trusty ebay to see if someone's selling the missing piece
Guess I've made the same mistake, ladies.
So in case there's still someone looking for answers - I'd like to add my two cents. I've bought a very nice secondhand sewing machine for my dd (as she decided to join the sewing courses). But I haven't checked whether it have or not the bobbin case. Gladly we contacted the dealer first and they gave us some sources when we can find extra details.
Machine was from Spiegel, and I've never thought they could help us anyhow: sewingland.org/
As for a shop with spare machine parts, you can check here first (in our case, it was the official dealer's website): spiegelsewing.com/
The moral of my story is short - always check sewing machines before buying 2nd hand, since lots of unreliable sellers are out there.
