Could having the wrong bobbin be the problem of the thread not catching?

Buying the correct bobbin for your machine is important. If the bobbin isn't fitting correctly, it will be hard for your needle to pick up the thread. Also check the way you have threaded the bobbin and the thread is on the canister correctly.
I do believe I have the bobbin. I'm buying the right one and see how that works. Thanks for the advice.
Using the correct bobbin for your machine is a major must but also using the correct bobbin for the material setting on your machine is just as important. You should have on hand several different bobbins so you will always have the right kind for the sewing you plan to do.
here is a link that explains about bobbins.

You can buy bobbins at most larger box stores, craft stores and on line but you have to buy the correct ones for your brand and model machine. If there is a specialty store that sells your brand machine then you may want to go there first so you can talk to someone who should know all about your machine. The more you know about your machine the better you will like using it.
If you do not have a manual then you can Google "free manual (your brand machine & model number)" and most likely you will find several sites but try to go to your brand site for help first.
A very good place to ask questions about things like this is one of the craft stores (Micheal's, JoAnn's) as they have a lot of ex[experience in this area or they have names and numbers of teachers that might be able to help. Don't forget - ask questions and get to know your machine.
Definitely! See the make and model of your machine. If you don't have the manual, try to download one online. They usually tell you what type of bobbin goes in the machine.
It is possible that your bobbin is inserted incorrectly. It should normally be on the left as your looking at the bobbin. It also might be the machine is threaded incorrectly. It's always a good idea to check to see if the the thread is twisted on something.
