Your Pet's Breed
We think Havanese. I looked up the breed and saw a picture, one looks like Boo.
How and when did you get your pet?
He was found on a door step in Simi Valley, California. And when his owner wasn't found after 30 days, we took him in. He was a dirty matted mess and right away he adopted DH. After a bath and grooming we didn't recognize him.
What does your pet like to do for fun?
He begins the day playing with his many toys. He doesn't share and will not bring back a ball. But since we have several, we throw one and he chases it then we throw the next one until we have about 6 going in all directions. He likes to go for short walks and barks at bikes, strollers, and skateboarders. Pretty much anything with wheels and other dogs.
Do you have anything else to share about your pet?
We had a trainer to see if they could get him not to bark at people with dogs, to no avail. We are trying a Thunder Shirt now. It seems to help a little after a week. We will keep trying for 30-40 days to see if there is more improvement. PetCo says we can return it up to 60 days. So we'll give it a good chance. Boo also "guards" his food and will nip at your feet if you get too close. We have learned to go around him and even have to distract him in order to pick up his food that is left over. He will guard it all day. He is a good watch dog. No one can come in the yard without him sounding the alert.
