My bread maker makes great dough and I gather the element works as it is lightly heated during the mixing and curing stage. The minute it starts to try to bake the bread it trips out. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you!

Get rid of it. It is a fire hazard. There are plenty of them in thrift stores, Freecycle and garage sales.
You do not say what brand or how old your machine happens to be but when it comes to electrical it is best to leave it to the experts. If you are used to tinkering with home appliances then maybe you can try someone's suggestion but otherwise you should probably look for another machine.
Your machine may be past its usable stage and thrift stores and church sales are really good places to look as not too many people are using these machines any more.
You can also check on Freecycle and Craigslist but you can also place a free ad in either of these stating that you are looking for a bread machine. Just be careful and do not give out ANY personal information.
Thrift stores are the best place to look but be sure to ask if the machine has been checked; then you will at least know that it will turn on.
Here is a site that addresses a similar problem but maybe another brand?
