About almost two weeks ago, I slammed my hand against the side of the moving side by side trying to catch my dog who had jumped out. Luckily, I caught her. As I did that the side of my hand slammed against the back of the side by side because I was sitting in the tailgate. It hurt and bruised quickly but it is still bruised today. It hurts to touch but doesn't hurt to move my hand.
When I try to crack my knuckle of my pinky, it will hurt bad. It is a tad swollen not very much though. Should I waste a trip to the ER or no? Has anyone else experienced this? I also don't bruise easily. Is there a doctor on this website who knows what may have happened. I was doing research also and I came across this paragraph saying it could be a bruised bone.

We don't have doctors affiliated with our site. The answers come from our active members, who are just regular people.
I would call your doctor or advice nurse with your insurance to see what they suggest. If it is still hurting after two weeks, I would think they would want you to go in or even get an x-ray to verify the break.
Good luck, I hope it heals up quickly.
Do not take a chance as this could be something that needs attention to keep it from bothering you soon or even later on in your life.
You can also go to the emergency clinics as they usually have facilities that offer doctors to take care of this.
You could see a regular doctor but that may just be a double bill as I feel sure the doctor will send you straight to a facility to have exrays completed.
Hope all is well and there are no serious problems.
Glad you were able to save your dog.
Did you say you were riding on a tailgate??
I would suggest that you have a physician evaluate your hand.
If you have any doubt about the condition of your hand, go to a doctor. If it is broken and you dont take care of it, it will not heal properly
