Brother Typewriter Keys Not Working?

I just got a new Brother electric typewriter and it switches on fine. The tab and space keys work, but the letter and numbers keys are just not typing. Anyone able to help me out?

The keys may be bent. Lift the cover and if they are, bend them back in shape.
