I noticed today on my dane/lab dog there is a big red bump on his shoulder/chest area. He is constantly licking it but it doesn't seem to hurt him. What will happen to it? Will it harm him in any way?

If he is licking it, it does bother him quite a bit. Labs are bred specifically to be resistant to pain. That means they won't always tell you when something's wrong, because it may not seem to bother them that much or at all. So if he's licking it's bugging him worse than you think.
I suggest you have this checked out and see what it is. it could be an abscess from a puncture wound so small you can't even see it, or it could be a spider bite. It's important to get it checked.
Feel is the bump seems to be contained under the skin or attached to the muscle underneath. No harm done if you apply quite warm hot saline compresses for about 5 min two or three times daily. If it is an abscess it will help draw it to a head.
