Ingredients
- 1 chicken (cut in portions)
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) yogurt
- 2 1/8 tsp. (10 ml) ginger/garlic
- 1 tsp. (5 ml) black pepper (fine)
- 1 tsp. (5 ml) white pepper
- 1/2 tsp. (2 ml) cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp. (2 ml) clove (powder)
- 1 tsp. (5 ml) salt
- 2 1/8 tsp. (10 ml) oil
- 1/4 cup (65 ml) butter
- 1/4 cup (65 ml) cream
- 2 1/8 tsp. (10 ml) lemon juice
- 1 cup (250 ml) tomato puree
- 1 - 2 tsp. (5-10 ml) fresh red chillies (pound to powder)
Directions
Mix yogurt, oil, ginger, garlic, 1 tsp. lemon juice and spices together and smear over chicken. Allow to marinate for few hours.
For Sauce: When almost done. Mix tomato sauce, lemon juice and butter and pour over chicken. Lastly add cream and garnish with mint and coriander leaves.
Can be grilled, or lightly fry and put in oven or braai. Serve with salads or roti or basmati rice, papads or naan.
