I'm about to buy my first chef knife, just one chef knife not a whole set. I'm just a beginner cook (just about 1 year experience) and my budget is around 110$. So I really need some advice to help me pick the one that suits me the most. (I want a light one, that can cut multiple things.)
Thank you.

Here is a great article to help you out. This article tells about the knives and how to pick one for you. At the end of the article it will recommend a good knife for you to look at that is right in your price range. www.cookinglight.com/
I find my santoku knife to be the one I reach for most. It's a FURI brand, with Gusto-Grip (tm).
You can't wrong with any Cutco knives. They are affordable on eBay. They have a lifetime warranty. The company will sharpen at no cost. Just shipping. There are videos on them on YouTube. I have no affiliation with them. Just think they're good for all levels of cooks/chefs!
I know you talk about an all-purpose knife, but it would be good to really think about what you most cook.
Do you mostly cut meat, veg, bread, or do you really cut anything at all?
Then read up about what different kinds of knives do and also upkeep.
what i would advise is to go to The Kitchen Company or other such place that lets you interact with knives and see which weight feels right, as well as the rest of the architecture of the knife. Ideally they will let you cut things as well (onions, carrots, etc) or have a return policy
At my hometown we dont have places that let us test the knife. But thank you all of you for the advice.
Buy a santoku knife it is versaltile and cuts many things it slices and dices things.
I have used Henckels knives for many years and always liked them but I recently was given 2 new knives from a company that I had never heard of but I really like them

You really need to try holding a knife before investing this much money. Are you sure there are no kitchen supply stores in your area? You may not buy a knife from one of these kitchen stores but it would give you a chance to see how they feel in your hand as they usually have several popular brands and you could at least find out the ones you really do not like. Maybe a store in a near by city?
Do you have a Bed, Bath & Beyond store near by?
They usually carry a large selection of kitchen knives.
You really need to find a knife that 'fits' you and not all brands will.
Here is an excellent article on basic knives (Food Network):

Look up all of these brands of knives and check reviews, that will give you a idea in which direction you would want to go in. Good Luck!
