What is the best kind of ham to buy? Last year I bought a shank ham (boneless) and it was very dry.

I shop at Krogers here in Ohio and they sell a brand called Cumberland Gap which is very good-boneless or semi-boneless. Semi boneless has a small bone in it but the butcher in house will cut the ham for you so it's not a problem and it's free to have it sliced! :) A boneless ham is not near as tasty as having the bone in, imparts flavor.
Make sure it's the butt portion. They are the best!
