You can cash it! After one to three years there may be a service charge deducted from the money order. That information will appear on the back of the money order.

Yes, you can still cash the money order. No expiration date.
However per Western Union - depending upon the state of purchase, if you do not use or cash the money order within one to three years of the purchase date, a non-refundable service charge will be deducted from the principal amount.

If this is a USPS money order it is good as long as the person whose name appears on the front is the one trying to cash it and they have proper ID.
Just take it to any official post office in the US.
Most banks will also cash a USPS money order with proper ID and/or an account or it can also be deposited in a bank account.
