I know this is not the thriftiest tip ever submitted but it works great for me. I had several sets of King size sheets where the bottom sheet was "pilly" and the elastic all stretched out and quite bothersome. So I went to Walmart and bought 2 different color fitted king size sheets at $12.00 each to replace those.
I usually cut mine down and sew into pillowcases. I never seem to have enough pillowcases. When they wear out, I cut a small slit in the closed end, slip over a hanger, and use as a dust cover for my out-of-season clothes. They are the perfect size, are washable, and work much better than the plastic ones you buy from the store.

My fitted sheets wear out leaving me with a perfectly good top sheet. Can I purchase a fitted sheet to replace the one that I can't use any more?
Yes, you certainly can. I have seen them at department stores but if you can't find them in your area, you can look on Amazon.
Yes, you can You can also convert flat sheets into fitted by just putting elastic on each of the 4 corners.
I am a great believer in looking for this type of item at my local thrift stores. In fact, I purchased several solid-colored sheets today. I love our local Human Society thrift store as they are not overpriced' and the proceeds go to a good cause.
I'm not sure if you have time to do this type of shopping, but maybe a friend could help you with this.
Fitted sheets can be purchased separately (maybe solid colors to blend with your top sheets).
Just be sure you check the inches of the ends/sides/pocket as there are numerous size mattresses and you need to be sure it will fit your mattress.

Of course you can buy just the bottom fitted sheet. Target, Walmart, Pennies, TJ Maxx, and most other stores too....they all should have fitted sheets packaged individually. Just make sure you are buying fitted sheets that will have deep enough corner pockets to fit your mattress thickness, as many newer mattresses are MUCH thicker than older ones. You can buy plain white, cream, or any color solid to match your printed top sheets.
