Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts I decided to come up with this recipe for cookies when I really wanted some sweets and didn't want plain candy. These cookies are so crispy and satisfying. You could also use crushed cornflakes or bran flakes. My family and I prefer these over regular chocolate chip cookies by far. This is a great way to use up leftover Halloween chocolates, too!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 13 minutes
Total Time: 23 minutes
Yield: 16 cookies
Ingredients:
- 4 Weetabix biscuits, crushed*
- 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 chocolate candy bar (I used Butterfinger)
*If you substitute Weetabix biscuits with other cereals, use about 1 1/4 cups of cereal.
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Stir together your crumbled cereal, flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Cream together butter and sugars.
- Beat in vanilla and egg.
- Add dry flour mixture ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir well.
- Chop up your candybar into little bits.
- Add to cookie dough.
- Drop small balls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Let cool for 15 minutes. The best part is when the candybar chunks melt and make crispy edges. So good! Enjoy!

Light or dark brown sugar? Dark brown sugar contains more molasses and is more flavorful.

I used light. Try dark if you have it! I love molasses flavours!
