The ribbon seems to be lifting up as the daisy wheel is moving. We've pulled the daisy wheel out to look at it and there's no reason this should be happening. Perhaps there is something we're missing. We made sure all the settings on the typewriter are correct to match the ribbon cassette. Nothing seems to be working to fix this issue. Thanks for any insight that you may be able to provide.

Make sure the lock in lever is engaged. Refer to this article for specific instructions www.fixya.com/
It is very difficult to offer suggestions when it appears you have already tried the usual things.
I would suggest you join several of the vintage typewriter forums (especially Reddit) and ask your question as these members will know the correct questions to ask you to try and get to the bottom of the problem.
I'm not familiar with these forums but I believe all are free to join. I would suggest joining some of these so if you have problems in the future you will have a place to ask for help.

I found the same question on reddit.com that was asked several days before this question on thriftyfun.com:

Your typewriter is from the late 1980s. I think the problem is in the ribbon cassette. Change the ribbon cassette.
Inspect the piece that holds the ribbon cassette in place, maybe it is broken.
Check if the compatible ribbon is loaded.
Check if the ribbon cassette is loaded correctly.
Remove and reload the ribbon cassette.
See how to do it correctly in the Instruction Manual (Ribbon Cassette, Loading) www.manualslib.com/
Change the ribbon cassette.
