Butter an 8 inch square baking pan. In a medium bowl mix flour, oatmeal, sugar and spices. Set aside. In a large bowl toss apples with lemon juice or Fruit Fresh. Pour apples into buttered pan. Top apples evenly with dry mixture. Don't mix. Top evenly with bits of cold butter. Again, don't mix. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 45 minutes or until golden. Note: Can be doubled, chopped pecans or walnuts can be added to the dry topping.

Oh, my stars in heaven! Just made this, whoo. I used dark brown sugar and it slaps your cheeks! Very good. (Yes, I'm dieting, so this hit my empty spot! lol) Nice breakfast.
