My cat has anemia. She only wanted to drink water from a rusted water pitcher. I started giving her water in an iron skillet and now that is the only "bowl" she will drink water from. Is she getting iron from the water and if so, would it be too much? I do notice she is getting better!

A safer way to get some extra iron for your kitty would be some beef or liver based cat food. Dont overdue either of these foods. Liver can be too high in vitamin A if fed in excess. To be safe have her rechecked by your Vet.
Please talk to your vet immediately about this and get his or her ok before letting her continue to do this. You don't want to risk it causing issues or even potential brain damage. The vet can give you the best solution to manage her condition, and if you ask, they may have a reduced fee or free care fund if you cannot afford the treatment.
If the iron bowl is not rusty it should be ok. If it is rusty, I would stop using it immediately
Iron skillets never should have standing water in them. The rust produced contains things other than iron, which may or may not be good for your kitty. Dont take a chance.
Thank you all for your input!! It is appreciated! Kitty has recovered and her iron levels are now normal. In this case the iron skillet seemed to do the trick, but of course, you should consult your veterinarian if you have a similar problem before trying the skillet since it might have been a coincidence!
