We have been finding little clumps of hair. They aren't bloody or snarled. We can't see where they are from. We wonder if stress and depression might be the problem. We got a kitten two months ago and he's been good with her when they play. The kitten dive bombs him yet he doesn't use his claws. He is eating and drinking well, but seems sad. We love the kitten, but I want our cat to be happy and healthy.

This is a vet-worthy question as is any change in behavior or skin problem (like losing fur). It could be stress from the new kitten or some other health problem. Once your kitty gets a clean bill of health, you can talk to the vet about the best ways to keep the depression/sadness at bay. Sometimes just a little extra TLC to the first kitty works wonders....but sometimes it takes a little more. Will send up prayers for the human and kitty family!! Good luck!
I would call the vet. She may have mites or a skin condition.
My cat does this when it's hot out. He also sleeps more.
You did not say if the clumps of hairs seem to be coming from the young kitten or the older cat. I think you best bet is to ring your vet and tell of the problem.
this is definitely a sign of stress but it can also be a sign of dermatitis or some sort of infestation. Best get it looked at, though removing the stressor might make the symptom go away
Kittens can be pretty annoying to an older cat. I would make an effort to make the older cat happy while the kitten grows up. Maybe some extra time for just you and the older cat while the kitten takes a nap. Special treats she likes, some new toys.
