Your cat may have an infection, scabies, mites, etc., that can cause hair loss. Please take him to your vet for help as these problems usually worsen without treatment and your cat suffers.
My daughter's cat does the same and needs work meds. from the vet.
He is black too.
My young black cat is the same also thin fur onn his back legs and his belly.. Have just taken him in as he is a stray and hoping that when he is neutered the thinking for will improve. Have deflead him but he does like grooming himself..
My cat has the same thing. Two thin stripes with the skin smooth and white showing just appeared overnight. He has similar hairless strips on his legs. Any ideas?
Just saw this and is the only mention of a missing stripe on the back. My cat is 6 also with long black fur. I assumed he was rubbing it off against something and is always on the one side.
