Cat Losing Hair?

My cat is 4 years old. He is losing hair, but not to the point of being bald. Do I need to change his food? I am feeding him Whiskies. Or what else can I do?

Is he up-to-date on his flea treatments? Hair loss can be caused by a flea allergies. Use a flea comb and see if you can find any evidence of fleas.

Is the cat licking itself excessively? That can cause hair loss. We have a cat that does that and have not been able to find a solution, sometimes it's better than other times.

Food allergies can result in hair loss, so trying a better grade of food would be a good idea. Better food can be more expensive but generally, the cats won't need to eat quite as much.

Our food is really expensive for health reasons so we make sure not give give our cats more than the required amount which has two huge benefits. 1. It save money. 2. It prevents our cats from getting overweight, overweight cats can have expensive health problems down the road.

It's definitely worth seeking the advice of a vet if it continues.
