Cat With Tapeworms?

I have rescued a stray cat that is very lovable. The only problem is that the cat has tapeworms. I think this, only because I have seen them and they look like tapeworms. I do have a vet appointment set up, but it's for next week. The cat is outdoors, but will come in. What should I do with the cat until the appointment? Do I bring it in until then?

I would keep the cat outside. Take the cat to the vet as soon as possible, since humans can catch it.
