My dog, my best friend died unexpectedly and very suddenly 2 days ago with absolutely no warnings or symptoms. He was a 1.5 year old Pit Bull that I got at 2 months old. He was fixed and always up to date on his shots. He was seemingly in perfect health and as happy as could be. We were outside playing. He was running to me and suddenly mid run, he flopped on his back. His legs were still kind of moving in run motion. I went up to him; his eyes and mouth were still open like when he was running, but there was no life to his face and his tongue was flopped out. He let out a deep loud screech, flopped over, became limp and that was it. All within seconds.
The vet said maybe an undetectable heart issue, but I can't seem to find anything upon google searches, that are so sudden like that, with no symptoms. Any idea? I am driving myself crazy trying to figure it out.

I agree with the vet. The only way you would know did sure is if you did an autopsy.
You have my deepest condolences on your loss. So sad. Losing a fur kid is just devastating.
Vets know signs and symptoms best and it sounds like a heart issue or a stroke.
Sadly, like humans, even the healthiest pup (or human) can have hidden conditions that cause sudden death. It is sad and cruel and so common. The other frustrating thing is that there is nothing anyone can do to prevent these things from happening. My late father always said when the big guy upstairs wants you, he takes you.
It sounds like you gave your baby a wonderful and happy life which is so important!!!
If you are having issues with your grief, I recommend finding a good support group and taking to someone. Our vet and our local human funeral home both have pet support grief counseling.
May your pup's memory always be a blessing.
I'm sorry for the loss of this special animal. :(
I noticed you mentioned "outside"...I am not sure but overheated dogs can have sudden death if they get too hot.
I am so sorry you have lost your buddy. It does sound like a hidden heart problem. It is so hard to accept we have lost a dog that appeared so young and healthy. Do reach out to your local humane society to see if they have groups for local people who have lost a pet. Consider making a donation in your pets name to a group that works to cure heart disease in dogs. I did this when I lost my young cat to fip. I have contributed several times since then too. It helps. Again, I am so sorry.
