Cause of Sudden Death of Puppy?

My baby just died last night and I've been wondering what the causes were. She was a lovable playful 6 month old puppy, who was always excited and jumping and running around all the time. Just yesterday she was her loving self. I didn't see anything wrong throughout the day. It was when it was around 9 pm that I took her outside with all my other dogs because my house was so warm and I wanted her to cool off and just play.

I put on a movie and was just entertained when my dad goes outside to check on my dogs and calls my name. I go outside and see that halfway through the lawn, she was laying there. I ran up to see what was wrong, but it was too late to do anything, she was already gone. It seemed she was pooping and just laid there, eyes wide open. There was a lot of saliva from her mouth, but I couldn't see her tongue because her jaw was so stiff. The whole night I've been crying and wondering what happened to my little baby.

It is sad to lose a pet. Your dog may have had an undiagnosed illness or physical issue. The only way you would know for sure is to have an autopsy done.

Oh my. How sad. You have my deepest condolences. Have you asked the pup's vet to weigh in. Every breed has conditions/predispositions that can cause sudden deaths.

Sadly, like with humans, pups pass from unknown causes and you may never know exactly what happened. It is so frustrating.

May your pup's memory always be a blessing. Post back with what the vet says.

Aww, I've had this happen to my pup.
I do have a HUMAN pharmacology technician lisence and it definatley sounds like from the uncontrolled bowels & sudden change in mood it was I am 99.9% sure parvo.
Children (and you) will be okay.
Be sure to tell the kiddos that the doggie just got sick. Sometimes God needs Him in Heaven right now (If you live in an even remotely Christian or even agnostic home... one where heaven and God are comforting)

Adjust it to your beliefs.
Next time, don't take anyone's word for it.
Puppies need several vaccines... similar to a human baby. Attached a list of puppy vaccines. Most vets usually price them at a "package" price for all.
Including Parvo. Medically the term is Canine parvovirus (CPV, colloquially parvo). i
It is actually a quick killing contagious virus  mainly affecting dogs (Although there are human strains). CPV2 is highly contagious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. Vaccines can prevent this infection, but mortality can reach 91% in untreated cases. In the 9% change the virus Is even rocking eyes before it starts killing the dog it involves veterinary hospital as ation it and has a 91% death rate in untreated cases parvo is a quick acting virus that will Require veterinary hospitalization.Canine parvovirus may infect other mammals including foxes, cat, wolves, cats and other feral animals they may interact with, or simply come in contact with their feces.

I am so sorry about your puppy. Since you didnt see what happened it is hard to guess. Could your puppy have gotten into something poisonous?

Dogs are sometimes intentionally poisoned but more often they innocently eat slug bait and other things people put out for pests.
