I have agreed to help a friend give a going away party for missionaries departing for Guatemala in April. Does anyone have any ideas for an inexpensive table centerpiece? I thought about creating Guatemalan flags by printing the flags onto card stock and gluing them to wooden skewers. I just can't decide how to best display them. Any ideas or suggestions for a centerpiece would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

Artistically arrange pineapples, bananas and other fruits which grow in Guatemala and stick the flags in them or just tape them on. Another idea might be a Carmen Miranda type hat with fruit and flags on it. Good luck!
You could hang special items on ribbons from a "potted tree branch" that the missionaries could use, for example: snack foods for their trip, cds, special soaps, money, etc. These items could be donated by the guests. Maybe the flag could go on top of the tree.
