I found this chalk board at a yard sale. I loved it because of the shape and design, but any chalk board will do. I have this hanging on my pantry door in my kitchen. As I run out of the regular staple items I need, I jot it down on my chalk board. It is always right at hand and I never have to look for a pen and paper. When it comes time to go shopping, I just copy everything onto my shopping list! I hope you find this helpful.

This is a good idea and very pleasing to the eye. I have been using a cheap magnetic dry erase board on the front of my fridge for many years. The pen is attached to the side, cleans up with a paper towel. As I run out or low, I add to the list and make sure I copy list into my smartphone to take to the store. I like your idea....much nicer to look at!
I use a magnet clip with paper from junk mail in it with pen hanging from it on the side of my fridge. Just take the top piece with the list on it when I go to the store.
