Here is another pie in a jar I made. I love how cute the pie looks in the jar. They are the perfect serving size and they can be stored in the freezer before baking.

Drooling! I joined ThriftyFun just so I could post here. :-) Great idea!
What an adorable idea! I love those little canning jars. I usually use them for my homemade (secret recipe) chocolate sauce, but I always have extra jars. Always buying more and looking for ideas. How cute! I bet the Irish Caramel Custard recipe I found a few days ago on:
<diabeticgourmet.com/
would be wonderfully fun in them! Oooh, and apple crisp, pudding, little cakes. So much fun to contemplate, as well as this delightful recipe - of course, adapted to be allergen free. Thank you for this charming and inspiring idea and recipe!
Allergen free:
1. I would use coconut (or chopped up allergen free coconut macaroons or other cookies) in place of the oatmeal. I am not a fan of so-called "gluten free" oats.
2. Be sure to buy a brand of pie filling that uses corn starch for its thickener, unless you are allergic to corn, then I recommend making your own homemade version.
Recipes should be available in an online search for allergen free pie filling or maybe even getting cherry preserves and doing a little "kitchen magic" on them.
Or, if desired, I would be willing to work with and try to help anyone wanting to explore other allergen free options. What fun!
Can you please post the recipe as I only see the picture?
Thank you!
