This recipe actually originated from an adobo recipe (Philippines most common dish). The procedure is almost the same but this one is the boys' favourite in any celebration. It's stir fried and made hot and spicy as perfect pair for beer during drinking sessions.
Ingredients:
- 400 g chicken gizzard
- 400 g chicken liver
- 1 bulb medium sized onion chopped
- 5 cloves garlic chopped
- 5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp chilies in vinegar (put as much chili as you want, depends on the level of spicyness you can tolerate)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp tomato sauce (optional)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (optional)
Steps:
- Saute onion and garlic.
- Add chicken gizzard and liver and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Allow to cook until sides turn light brown then add the chilies in vinegar.
- Pour the soy sauce.
- Add water and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce and sugar, one tablespoon each. (optional)
- Continue cooking until sauce reduces. When there is very little amount of sauce or when it turns thick stir fry to coat the sauce very well.
- Best served in sizzling plate.
