Ingredients:
- 8 oz mushrooms
- 1 lb ground turkey or chicken
- 1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp flour
- 1/2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup shallots, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup Marsala wine
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Chop half the mushrooms. Slice the other half and save for later.
- Combine the chopped mushrooms with the meat, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, 1 clove of the garlic, salt and pepper.
- Shape into 25 meatballs.
- Bake 15-18 minutes, or until golden.
- Mix the flour and the Marsala wine and broth with a whisk.
- Heat a skillet and add the butter.
- Add the garlic and shallot. Cook for 3 minutes, or until golden.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and a bit of salt and pepper. Cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet.
- Pour the Marsala wine mixture over the meatballs.
- Cover and cook about 10 minutes.
