I have a friend and he's paying child support for his two kids. His two kids are both on SSI and so is the mother. They worked out an agreement for a certain dollar amount per week, so she wouldn't have to let Social Security know about the adjustment. Does the mother have to notify Social Security of the additional child support? If the father pays more support, does the SSI benefit go down?

This isn't a good answer to your question, but an observation. Does the father agree to paying additional child support to start with? Most dads are tapped to the limit with child support and you can't squeeze one more cent out of them.
