Hi - sadly so many people ask questions about SSI on this type of media when most cases are decided on an individual basis and only Social Security can give that information.
Your case would certainly be decided on who is trying garnishee your income and your personal circumstances.
Please GO to your Social Security office and get the information you need/want.
I have always heard that they cant touch SS.
