My ex wife gets child support through my Social Security. Recently, my wife and I had a child and therefore the payments for my 1st child got split in half for my 2nd one.
Now I pay my ex wife what I owe in what Social Security doesn't pay.
While this was all getting adjusted, Social Security over paid my ex wife $110 and has sent a letter to her telling her to pay it back or they will discontinue her Social Security payments. She is refusing to do so and wants me to pay for it.
If she doesn't pay, do I stop receiving my benefits? Does my 2nd daughter stop receiving her benefits? And if she's refusing to pay what she owes back, she is refusing her child support. Does that mean I'll have to find another way to pay her or is that her problem being that she's refusing to do what she needs to get paid?

It's S.S. that overpaid and they will have to deal with it. You shouldn't have to pay anything to your ex. You should contact the Social Security administration office to inquire about your second child's benefits as I do not know if it will affect hers.
Only on a guess, I would not think it should hurt the second child unless she was also a recipient of overpayment(s) and should have been notified as well. You do not owe your ex anything; she owes them as she was the receiver. IF they have to stop payments to your ex it should only last until the overpaid debt is paid back.
Ask the SS people if this will affect your second child, then you will have the correct answer. BUT, this is only my assumption and I could be incorrect in speaking out.
