I made these loaves of bread to give to my friends for part of their Thanksgiving brunch or breakfast. Recycled Halloween pumpkin for a Thanksgiving treat.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups pureed pumpkin (mine was homemade)
- 4 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ginger
- 3 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups oil
- 1 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Glaze
- 2 to 3 Tbsp milk
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup sliced, toasted almonds
Steps:
- Mix all ingredients for bread together. Pour into three greased large loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for one hour.
- Remove from oven. Using a pointed object, poke holes randomly over top of bread.
- Mix glaze ingredients together. Pour over top of bread. When cooled, remove from pan. Slice and serve.
