I am looking for a few options for a custom entry door for my new house. There are a few designs I like. The one I like most has glass panels in the middle. I am a big fan of wood and glass when it comes to windows and doors. So, while searching for some designs for an entry door I came across a company, Smart Choice Windows & Door Systems, Inc. that sells front entry doors in Toronto.
I had a small discussion with them. From the discussion, I got to know that fiberglass doors have more benefits compared to wood doors. For example, they are more durable, do not rust or den, provide soundproofing, energy efficiency, etc. And, they are more economical it seems. I am really confused now. I don't know which one to choose for my house. Of course, I don't think fiberglass doors can match the aesthetic value of a wooden entry door. It is a battle between head and heart now.

I would go with the fiberglass. It is made to look exactly like wood and wont warp or need to be painted.
I feel your pain!! I wanted so much to have a wood door because I have a very old craftsman home and I wanted to keep it period, BUT, it is a very old house!
My challenge was this...the wood doors in my house were affected by weather and often went all cattywampus depending on the season, so I had to forgo the wood for the front door.
If you have issues with interior wood doors expanding and contracting when the weather changes, you may want to go with fiberglass (or steel doors).
I found nicer choices in the steel doors than fiberglass, but I know things have changed a lot in 19 years.
Here is a good pro and con list:
