Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 9x5 inch loaf pan. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cloves, and cinnamon. In a large bowl, beat margarine, sugar, and 1 egg until smooth. Add second egg and stir in vanilla. Stir in apple. Add flour mixture and mix until moist.
Spread in loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes and remove from pan. Cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf.

I'm literally making this right now and it does not appear to say how much salt to put in? I'm going to guess at a 1/2 tsp. - geesh I surely hope that's right!
It doesn't say how much vanilla either.
