When I clean my coffee maker with vinegar, I do it in the bathroom. When the vinegar has run through, I put baking soda in the tub drain and pour the hot vinegar in. I quickly close the drain so the vinegar and soda can work its magic! Then when I run the water through the coffee maker to finish the cleaning, I pour that hot water down the drain to further clean the drain too.
So simple but works so well at keeping my bathroom drains from getting clogged!

I just want to explain the "magic". You are creating carbon dioxide bubbles with the mixture of baking soda and vinegar. I personally think that you would be better off just using the baking soda, which is a base, and will combine with grease (which you might have in a kitchen drain) and the hot water. Just because something bubbles does not mean it is doing anything useful. I have done absolutely nothing for my bathroom drains for the 14 years that I have lived in this house, and they work wonderfully.
