How do I clean black patent leather children's shoes?
jg
Next time you make biscuits, save a little dough for you patent leather shoes. Rub patent leather shoes with raw biscuit dough and then wipe off the shoes with a cotton cloth.
Then rub a dab of petroleum jelly into the shoes for a glistening shine.

As crazy as it sounds WD-40 works great on patent leather. It can remove glue, gum, & scuffs. Spray some on the area & use a clean terry cloth or cotton white cloth like a t shirt and let it sit for 30 sec. work it gently until glue, gum or scuff is gone. May have to do it a couple times depending on severity. Wipe off excess after completion. Use a small dab of Vaseline or baby oil and buff to a shine
