What can I use to clean the spilled on gunk on ceramic top stoves?
Liz from Midway, KY
I first wipe as much gunk off the stovetop as possible with a wet cloth. Then i use Barkeeper's friends and scrub, scrub, scrub... it doesn't scratch and removes every last trace of anything burned on. i should know, i burn stuff and have boil overs alot just not paying attention. This has worked wonders for me and it's cheap and goes a little goes a long way! (01/01/2007)

I have heard that Mr Clean Erasers work really well. (01/03/2007)

Go to Home Depot and buy a bottle of Cerama Bryte a product that is specifically made to clean ceramic glass top stoves or call the company with questions or comments at 1-800-578-home or visit on line at www.ceramabryte.com (01/04/2007)

I use baking soda. I put a generous amount on and then cover with a damp dish cloth. After about five minutes I scrub with the dish cloth. This usually works, if I get a particularly stubborn bit of gunk I use a sample of laminate counter top that I got from the DIY store and use it to gently scrape off the gunk. My stove is 10 years old and still looks great. (01/04/2007)
Cerama Bryte is what came with my new stove. A little goes a long way. You only need to put a few drops on your stove top and wipe down with a paper towel or cloth. It is sold at Home Depot and Lowe's.
You certainly don't want to use anything abrasive on that type of stovetop. (01/04/2007)
Mr Clean Magic Eraser is the best! I used to use Cerama Bryte until I discovered these Erasers. (01/04/2007)
