I have chair railing on top of my cabinets. How do you get the sticky substances off of the wood on the chair railing? On top of the cabinets I lay newspapers and just change when needed, but I cannot do it with the chair railing.

My household, car, garage floor, and outdoor all time favorite degreaser and cleaner is Simple Green. It doesn't hurt septic or ground water and has so many uses. The least expense point of purchase is at shopping clubs like Sam's. (Lowes charges the highest!) Often when buying gallon size; a free sprayer bottle is attached. Mechanics wives: wash grease laden clothes on wash cycle w/ 1/2 cup or pretreat all areas with Simple Green and then rewash in regular clothing soap/fabric softener. Good luck.

I use Murphy's Oil Soap to clean my natural Oak cabinets. Just follow the instructions on the bottle. I got this advice from a sister. She and her husband buy used campers, clean them up, and re-sell them. She uses Murphy Oil Soap when she cleans.

Depending on what country you live in, Dawn liquid or fairy liquid for hand dishwashing is what I personally have found to be the best. Put a little on a damp sponge and wipe away! (02/23/2011)
