How do I clean automobile headlights? Mine are really stained. I know they have the kits, and the pros, thanks!

There are several types of kits you can buy from an automotive store. I prefer the 3M kit. In this months issue of Consumer Reports, available at book stores, grocery stores and other locations, they rate several of the kits. A couple of the kits are not worth buying according to Consumer Reports.
My husband sprayed Pam on ours, then rubbed then with a soft clean cloth, and it cleared them up.
The cloudy headlight is caused by oxidation and uv rays from the sun and a few other factors. Pam is not going to remove any oxidation. The best way is by abrasives that remove the oxidation and then polish.
I have read about cleaning them with brake fluid. Have not tried it but I will try it first when need to. Good Luck.
I have been doing this for years. Get some mosquito repellent and cloth. Spray the repellent ((has to have deet as that is the active chemical) onto the cloth and wipe the headlight clean. You will notice a difference right away. Do it a few more times. It works extremely well.
