I bought some "patent" shoes from New Look today and I was wondering how I am to clean them or to get rid of scuffs when they happen? I don't know whether I am to use the same tricks that you use with actual leather patent shoes, as from New Look, they are most likely plastic. Please reply as soon as you can, if you can.
Thanks!

My Mother always used Petroleum Jelly. Put a small amount on a cloth and rub on. Then shine with a clean cloth. (12/31/2005)

Baby wipes, they won't dry and have lots of moisture. Then use a lint free cloth to wipe off excess cleanser. You can get a pack of 50-80 count at the checkout in Walmart (travel pack) for around a dollar. (01/12/2006)

You can also use "Armor All" type wipes. They are good for plastic. For plain dust or dirt, mild soap will do, too. (03/02/2006)

Surely petroleum jelly would ruin the plastic? As both are oil based surely it would end up dulling the shine? I'd try the window cleaner. (09/14/2008)
